Star Wars The Clone Wars SUCKS!

George Lucas' Clone Wars sucks. big time.

period.

if you think that Part 1 to 3 are really bad, then this cartoon is, to me, the final nail to the coffin. i mean, compare to this, part 1 to 3 are like oscar contenders.

there is no story plot.

there is no character development.

and those silly tin-can robot "roger-roger" soldiers have more screen time than Asajj Ventress!. how can? Grrr...

i caught the afternoon show today (Sunday) and there were less than 30 people in the cinema hall.

30! on a sunday afternoon! and we are referring to a show that only started 3 days ago!

i should have known, when the cartoon only received USD27mio after 15 days of screening in US. 27mio! that means it earned less in 15 days what The Dark Knight earned on the opening day.

think i'd be better off watching The Dark Knight the fourth time (yes, i've watched it thrice).

think i'd enjoy more watching ants crawl around the table, or my JRT sleeps.

in fact, think i'd enjoy ironing my office shirts more (which goes to show how much i really hated this cartoon, since i really really hate ironing).

another pissed off day... another pig out session

ahh... Peach Garden.

a place, where the banking clan meet for lunch.

a place, where one can still find venison in RP area.

a place, where food is served in micro portion?

food wise, i have no complain.
price wise, i have no comment.

not no complain... but no comment.

you go figure.

prawns with salad cream.

scallop with vege.

shark bone soup

venison.

beehon

ice jelly with coconut.

when it rains... doodle

it has been pouring non-stop over the last 2 days. And the whole weekend's ruined! ruined! sigh.

oh well, since i have oodles of time, i might as well do some photoshop doodling.

damn the s/w is good. think i use less than 3% of its full potential.

what's with me and food this week anyway...

this has been a pretty lousy week for me. well, work wise, at least.

and when i'm in that mood, i sort of look around for food. i dun pig out, of course. i just sort of... splurge on food.

mango cake from Cova at Paragon...

kamo seiro (spelling?). again from Paragon.

TWG's artas tea. this is a new joint in RP.
less than a week old, if i'm not wrong.
hmm... think will write more about this place soon.
they actually sell Phu 'Er by the pot. Amazing.

... and of course, baby back ribs from tony romas.

i feel like a glutton.
i dun eat like one, surely. but i just feel like one.
Sheesh.

-------

Anyway, on a side note, my consultant has send me an executive order - from now on, i'm not to buy anymore pastries for gatherings.

no more.

i'm not actually sure why that order came about. but it may have got to do with the fact that we have tried pastries from Bakerzin to Hilton; from Candele to Cova... and all within a short span of a couple of months.

well, i suppose she thinks that's about enough.

either that, or she thinks that i have absolutely no imagination in coming up with food alternatives and took the easy way out.

whatever.  *roll eyes*

so, during the next gathering, i am to provide a dessert known as Ah-bo-ling.

huh? si mi lai eh?

quite frankly, i have no idea what that is. i dun believed i have ever tried it.

hmm... an interesting challenge. an interesting challenge indeed.

wonder if paragon sells them.

... and then, there's The Little Prince

This, is another of my fav. it's another book where you get to learn something new every single time you read it. really.

but this is not a book review, so i'm not gonna write about the story. i just want to say that i especially love the brown fox.

... So the Little Prince tamed the brown fox. and when the time for him to leave was approaching:

'Oh!' said the brown fox. 'i am going to cry.'

'it's your own fault,' said the Little Prince. 'i never wished you any harm; but you wanted me to tame you...'

'i know.' said the fox.

'and now you are going to cry!' said the Little Prince.

'i know.' said the fox.

'so you have gained nothing from it at all!'

'yes i have gained something,'said the fox, 'because of the colour of the corn'

i think i'm kinda like the brown fox. in fact, i think we all have a bit of the brown fox in us.

we sometimes choose to do what we do,
not because we like to,
but because we have to.

even when it hurts.

even if it hurts.

"side note: strange, but me is getting a little emo lately... must be the Pisces thing."

Emily Dickinson... Open Me Carefully

all the people i know are aware of Shakespeare.

a good chunk would know at least one of the Bronte sisters.

and Jane Austen.

etc etc etc...

but i kinda like Emily Dickinson myself. been having this book for years and i can still find nice quotes in it from time to time.

not all her works are for keeps, of course. but when she's good, she's good.

"When i hoped, i feared -
Since i hoped
i dared."

i like.

'nuff said.

Glenn Gould - A State of wonder

Ahh... finally got my hands on this CD.

I can't find another pianist that plays the Goldberg Variations so well. Truly a master.
.
.
.

But ummm, my ultimate favourite is still Arthur Rubinstein's 5th Piano Concerto.

Neck line... and what?

"you know, you better buy your apartment fast. you owe me my seafood soup and the lack of it is making my neck line obvious. and dun make me wait till i have saggy boobs pls" So said my friend, over dinner.

Huh? what the...

see, i have a couple of friends who have been telling me to buy a property. a house, condo... appt... anything with four walls so that they can park their dogs and kids.

that, i can understand.

and they want to use the (still fictitious) kitchen to cook meals during gatherings.

that, i can make sense of too.

but i'm now responsible for her neck lines?

what neck lines? when does she ever have neck lines?

and since when are saggy boobs being used as a deadline?

ok... i'm not even gonna go there.

Sheesh.

anyone who at this time think that this friend of mine is not looker is wrong. she's definitely a looker. she's just not that great when it comes to using proper umm... units for time reference.

and we HAVE got to look into that.

or i'll be having weird hallucinations over dinner.

necklines... saggy boobs....

*shivers*

A baby jacket cost how much? Good grief!

So my godson's planning to go HK sometime in Oct/Nov this year.

ok, more like, the mother of my godson plans to bring him over to HK for holiday sometime in the 4th quarter this year. and knowing how cold HK must be during year end, i happily got him a jacket.

a simple jacket with a simple zip.

actually, more like a simple jacket with a simple zip and a simple detachable hood.

actually, more like a simple jacket with simple zip, a simple detachable hood and with fleece lining (but seriously, which baby jacket doesn't have fleece lining these days?)

but what's with baby jacket these days? i know brands are a good selling point... but it costs twice what my office shirt does. Seriously... twice!

With change!

A baby jacket... twice! Sheesh!

it's nice though. and he looks great in it. not just good. great!

(yes yes yes... i is shallow.)

but still.... twice! faintz.

Moral of the story - never EVER go to Orchard when one is on leave.

i dun get it.

All i wanted was just to collect my shirt. get some mags... and maybe a dvd or two for my godson. and what happened? the sneaky pair of sneakers (pardon the pun) just appeared out of nowhere and whispered,

"Bring me home. i'm a perfect fit to your wardrobe."

A micro-second-cross-reference image flashed across my mind suggested that it may have a point there.

(Quick note: Now, anyone who knows me will tell you that i suck when it comes to wardrobe coordination. make no mistake. i suck. big time. i use to depend a lot on my consultant but she not really available these days... but that's another story.)

So now, it's sitting nicely at my place... and i begin to wonder if it can match well with my other stuff... at all! And it has suede, for goodness sake. Suede! who wears suede in a humid-and-rains-every-other-day country anyway?

oh good, this is getting from bad to worse by the minute.

well at least it's not as if it's hot pink or bright orange... so there might still be hope after all. (yeah, right)

and good thing too that i didn't get to meet my consultant after the purchase, or she would have mumbled that she has not taught me anything and that i'm a disgrace to her.

How on earth can a 18mth old eat so much...

My godson eats as if he's a food equivalent of a black hole - food placed near him can never be escaped. they would be grabbed & swallowed... gobbled without mercy.

nor would he ponder for a nano second if he is full at all.

it's like, "hey, if i see food, i'm hungry."

obviously, granny's attempt to stop the food-flow didn't go down too well with him..

ok, i'm not even gonna discuss about how messy he can get when it comes to eating. so unglam.  hahahaha

burp!

Finally... Photoshop CS3

There are lots of things that Mac is good for. the iphoto is a good product. but then... for that extra oommph, nothing compares to the Photoshop.

i foresee i'll be having lots of late nights from now on... editing and learning along the way.

but it is a great investment and i is happy.

Food... glorious food

See, i dun have a very glamorous job, but sometimes, when the stars are aligned correctly, i get to have some perks. and lunches seems to be one of them.

not that they are filling, hell no. but it's nice to try out new stuff from time to time.

& of course, i had to have a part 2 after the meal (the portions are not exactly generous, if you know what i mean), but that's another story.

Raw salmon... with caviar at the side

Some roasted chicken breast thingy... with mushrooms stuff'd in it

Some cake-biscuit-strawberry thingy dessert...
Nice
